Rules & Regulations Clarifications

Roleplay over Gunplay: This is a Roleplay over Gunplay server. The Staff and Community are not going to tolerate people coming in and turning this into a Team Death Match. If you can resolve a situation without shooting a gun, do so.

I.E. Someone crashed into your car whilst you were driving, If someone punched you, or if someone tweeted something you didn’t like.

POCKET WIPING / LOOTBOXING: No pocket wiping. You should only go for the items worth it, like materials, weapons, and more. You do not try to take people's food, water and ID's constantly.

Lootboxing is when a player targets LEOs consistently with the motivation of robbing them of their equipment with little to no reason or proper initiation. This should not be happening and anyone reported of it will have serious repercussions.

If in your story you have an encounter with the police and you choose to rob them, you should only be taking a couple of items, not their entire toolkit.
Example: You take a taser and a few cartridges, or an armor and an IFAK.
An LEO should not be getting wiped of their toolbelt and equipment as you should be mindful to get out of the area as soon as possible for fear of police backup. This applies even if it is in your own turf.

INITIATION: Initiation must be performed before going into combat, otherwise outright combat without any form of roleplay will be considered failRP. This is to create story scenarios and prevent combat roleplay.

Things to note:
  • Make sure you are SHOUTING when you are speaking or coming up to someone if you are initiating hostilities with someone.
  • There should be enough conversation back and forth that you are able to make your intentions known, but also let the other party become aware that their life is in danger. This gives them the chance to try to negotiate depending on the situation.
  • One or two words shouted is not initiation.
  • Twitter beef is not considered enough for initiation.

PACING: Never repeatedly target a player In Character (IC) throughout the twenty-four (24) hour cycle. Pace targeting someone throughout the day, otherwise this can be considered FailRP. (More than three (3) is excessive throughout a twenty-four (24) hour cycle).

To put it in more clear terms in a 24 Hour period, you can only target someone 3 times with 8 hours in between each encounter. This also includes any wars between gang/groups. You will be strictly held to this rule. 3 Encounters a day should suffice.

This allows the time and opportunity between encounters for the players to regroup, figure out their injuries and how your encounter will impact their story. You are not the main character of the server, no one is. We are all here to collaborate on a story, please keep in mind that there are others around that also want to enjoy their time and hobby without being shot 5 times a night.

GANG/GROUP HQ/TERRITORY

HEADQUARTERS
- This is a location in which you can claim as yours, this is where the previous turf rule will take effect if you are attacked by an outside force. It would be a clubhouse, hideout, a business, a home etc etc.
  1. When attacked at your Headquarters, you are able to defend with anyone who is in your organization at the Headquarters, but only if you are DEFENDING.
  2. If you are in your HQ and you’re the one to begin hostilities, you are still bound by the rule of four (4), it is your responsibility to delegate who your four (4) hostile members are.
  3. The offensive side will always be limited to the rule of 4.
  4. If you are fleeing because you are under attack back into your HQ, do not get involved in the hostile encounter.

TERRITORY - This is an area of the city in which you can still lay claim over. However, whether you are the offensive or defensive party you are limited to the rule of 4 at all times. To begin, you will have maybe a block or two, commonly surrounding your HQ. In time, this territory may expand as your group's influence and reputation grows. You only get one area, you cannot claim multiple ones.
  1. This means that if you go to a meeting between groups that is in your “claimed” territory and it could turn sour you should only be there with four of your gang / group.
  2. “Showing of Force” is allowed with more than 4 people, this is not initiating, however if someone from that larger group who is showing force decides to initiate something then it is up to that group to stick to the rule of 4.
  3. You can patrol your area with more than 4, but you must have your 4 designated ahead of time and only they can engage in any hostilities, attacking or defending.

EVENTS - If there are people at an event and it’s attacked, the attacking party can only be a max of 4, however all civilians are able to defend themselves.

Things to note:
  • A Hostile Action would be classified as an act where you harm or intend to harm someone, i.e. You shoot them, you stab them, you punch them.
  • If you are selling drugs or committing actions on your HQ that would normally have the locals contact the Police to have them come take a look or patrol, that is not considered a hostile action from the Police.
  • At the same time, the Police should make sure to be aware of what area they’re going into and keeping an eye on their actions and behavior if they are potentially outnumbered.

Suicide RP is not allowed at all.

    INJURED CIV TRANSPORT
  • If you are in a situation that requires you to transport (carry) someone in your vehicle, make sure you keep track of how many people are going with you and the vehicle you are using. If you are on a motorcycle, you cannot carry someone, this will be considered Fail RP.

If you are transporting/carrying someone in a vehicle, make sure there is one seat free per person being carried.
I.E. If you are transporting/carrying someone in a 4 door, there can be 3 people that are in good enough health to stand, and one free seat for the person who is downed. For all intents and purposes, the idea is that you’re not “carrying” them in your lap, you placed them on the spare seat.

Gang/Criminal Activity Statement

As all of you know, the very nature of GTA as far as the lore, settings and mechanics are very crime heavy. Most servers eventually turn into a Cops VS Crims environment and whilst we support those archetypes, we do not wish for it to turn into the same story in Connect RP. We want this server to have more depth and complexity to it, as opposed to just being something where everyone just uses their guns to speak for them. While it is understood that in some situations a gun is the best course of action, it very rarely calls for that.

This community that we’ve built in Connect RP has done a beautiful and amazing thing. You have all collectively and simultaneously agreed on a standard of what you expect from each other in terms of RP. That being said, the following is not meant to dictate your rp, but to outline what will make you successful and help you achieve your goals based on the standards that the Community and Staff Team have placed upon each other.

For the groups tied to the Lore of GTA and Los Santos:
The groups in Connect’s Lore have been defunct for years. For example, South side is just another part of the city, impoverished, yes but no one holds it down and owns it. No one has worries about going down there because the groups that once made these streets lethal have been gone, ousted by one reason or another.

It's up to the new chapters of these groups to build themselves up from the ground up, wipe the dust from their flags and come out into the light to take over the streets and make their names worth something.

For any group in general:
No group who flies in together for the first time will have that renown. It is something you will need to build through your actions and your motivations but you will not achieve this by coming in and immediately starting to shoot everyone and everything in your path. Point blank, with no room for speculation it will be said right now:

Any group, gang, or affiliation who flies in one day and begins a shooting spree immediately thinking they will get the respect they deserve will not find success in this server and will have a short shelf life. Whatever respect, renown, reputation or resources you had in a previous city mean nothing in Connect RP. Here you are starting at the same level everyone else did.

As time moves forward and we get some groups built up in the city, we want to introduce a program where the groups who have become pillars in the lore of CRP will become City Recognized. There are a lot of things we have planned to introduce in the near future and we wish for everyone to be able to take part in it. Please keep in mind that this is a new server with a growing community. We want the Crime/Gang RP to thrive and we’re looking to reward people who put effort and time into their rp but breaking the rules that are set forth to keep fair playing fields for everyone is not going to make that happen.

GANG WARS
Gang wars are a huge part of Criminal Roleplay. It’s some of the most intense, fun and action packed parts of RP. Please keep in mind that wars should only be started over subjects that have substance and actual impact.
Example of a bad reason: Group A made a series of rude tweets back and forth with Group B so Group B declares war.
Example of a good reason: Group A gets into a shootout and chase with the police and it ends up in Group B’s territory. Because of this, the police find a stash/hideout/drugs for Group B. Group B reaches out to Group A to negotiate terms on how to make Group B whole for their loss, Group A refuses. Group B takes their loss in a pound of flesh, kidnaps someone from Group A, tortures them (with OOC consent) and drops them off somewhere to be found.
Guideline Addition:
When a group or groups intend on going to war with another group officially, you can take one of two steps, handle it however you see fit IN CHARACTER without using OOC terms etc. However, if you are looking for a more in-depth kind of war in which discussion may be needed on an OOC level, we encourage you to open a ticket where both sides will be invited to fill out a "Terms & Conditions" for the war, as sort of "Do's and Don'ts" if you will. The ConnectRP staff team will only be involved if asked or to help guide both sides, everything will be left to the two parties to decide as long as they are within the ConnectRP Rules.
War Terms & Conditions
  • Reasoning for the War:
  • How will the War conclude?
  • How long will the War last if the above is not applicable (we would recommend 2-4 weeks):
  • Are there any outside parties allowed to be involved?
  • Is there anything you do not wish to see during the War?
  • Is there anything in the rules you wish to modify? (IE, rule of 4)
  • Is there anywhere that is off limits?
*Note: this is to be upheld by the groups themselves, it is not the responsibility of the ConnectRP staff team to moderate this.*

Corruption:
Corruption is not allowed within whitelisted departments such as Law Enforcement & Department of Justice (Only to those representing the STATE) in order to protect the integrity of the departments their characters are playing in. This allows citizens and players to also feel as if they are being treated in an unbias way when it comes to getting anything. The only way the player will be allowed to do corruption roleplay will be through the extent of staff knowledge to prevent both metagame from other players and to allow the person to roleplay their story through moderation of the staff to ensure it's not over-excessive corruption.

Police & Civilian Interaction:
When a scenario is taking place between Law Enforcement & Civilians, it will be considered FAILRP should you involve yourself in that scene without any form of actual roleplay backing behind it. There is no reason you should involve yourselves in arrests and more if you did not partake in that scene in general. For example:
  • Involving yourselves during an arrest in progress when you weren't involved in the scene to begin with.
  • Seeing a "friend or associate" of yours being arrested isn't a reason to get yourself involved if you were not involved in the scene to begin with.

Other scenarios that can be scene as FAILRP between a Civilian & Law Enforcement Officer can be:
  • Gunplay over Roleplay: Deciding to shoot someone over a traffic stop without any actual real reason behind it other than not wanting a ticket and or getting caught.
  • No actual form of a scenario happening prior to any violent interactions.
  • Intentions of robbing a police officer without any form of actual planning, interactions and or story behind it.
  • Spawning vehicle and or boats during a police chase scenario. Boats and vehicles must be available prior to any chases, or local vehicle and or boats must be available prior to using them.
  • Constantly robbing one location to another. Chain robbing is considered FAIL RP.

Emergency Services & Medical Interactions:
When a scenario is taking place such as an injury and or medical interaction. It is considered FAILRP to roleplay unrealistic wounds after an interaction that may have taken place prior to the injury; such as gunshot wounds and more. To grab someone off the ground that is seriously injured and bringing them to the hospital prevents roleplay for people doing Emergence Services. Another could be not realistically roleplaying your injury during medical interaction with people who roleplay doctors and more. This can be considered FAILRP and is not considerate of our community expectations. The same can go with involving yourselves in their medical interactions, especially if you had not been in the scene prior to any injury that may have occurred and or medical/emergency staff/roleplayers is taking care of.

When is it fine to take yourselves to the Hospital?
  • Eight (8) minutes after being downed on the second stage. You can revive yourself at the hospital with no memory of what occurred as per our rules and regulations OR you can have someone take you to the hospital.
  • No Medical Staff available eight (8) minutes into your injury is on duty at the hospital, so you're fine to check yourselves in if that is the case.

ALL INJURIES ARE TO BE ROLEPLAYED WHETHER OR NOT A MEDICAL STAFF MEMBER TAKES CARE OF YOU OR NOT!

Out of Character (OOC) Interactions
:
Although we do want people to be able to solve problems among themselves, contacting one another because of a scenario will be considered a form of harassment. Here at Connect Roleplay we believe that mediations without having to report someone can be solved simply by gathering both parties into a ticket to discuss something with another. These third party communications outside of our discord and our forum can be the following:

  • Streaming Platforms (Twitch, Youtube, Etc.)
  • Private Discord Messages.
  • Any other platform that isn't related to our Forum & Discord Server.
This breaks our community guidelines by trying to intervene in people's personal lives and respect with one another. If it occurs, we highly suggest you make a discord ticket with proof regarding the harassment and ban said person on all platforms as Connect Roleplay cannot do anything outside our own platforms.

(TO BE EDITED FURTHER..)
